Groupe Folklorique De La Réunion (Auvidis Pressing) LP

Discover the traditional music of Réunion Island with this album by Groupe Folklorique De La Réunion, likely a 1979 pressing released by Auvidis (based on reference numbers PFAV 4004 / YPARTX 86.906). This collection captures the authentic sounds performed by this folk ensemble.

Featuring traditional instrumentation and vocals in Creole, the album presents classic Séga tunes ("Rougail Ségas"), Maloya rhythms ("Maloya"), and heartfelt folk songs ("La complainte de Pa' Félix", "P'tite fleu aimée"). It also includes a version of "Mon Ile" credited to Jacqueline Farreyrol. A valuable snapshot of the island's folklore from that era.
