Granmoun Lélé - Soléyé (2025 Reissue) LPGranmoun Lélé

Experience the raw, ancestral power of Maloya with "Soléyé", a seminal album by the legendary Granmoun Lélé (Julien Philéas). Originally released in 1993, this 2025 vinyl reissue brings back a cornerstone of traditional Réunionnais music.

Granmoun Lélé, a patriarch of Maloya from Saint-Benoît, delivers deeply rooted music connected to Servis Kabaré traditions and Malagasy ancestry. "Soléyé" is pure, unadulterated acoustic Maloya, driven by the hypnotic rhythms of the kayamb, roulèr, bobre, and sati, topped with Lélé's powerful, soulful vocals and call-and-response chants. This album is a testament to the resilience and spiritual depth of Maloya. Essential for understanding the heart of Réunion's musical soul.
