Gérard Sophie et Les Mascareignes - Ile Maurice - Ile de la Réunion LPGérard Sophie et Les Mascareignes

sold out

Explore the sounds of both Mauritius and Réunion with Gérard Sophie et Les Mascareignes on this 1987 album released via Osmose (OS 55003). Gérard Sophie, a Mauritian artist, collaborates with his band Les Mascareignes to present a collection focusing on Séga music, incorporating influences and styles from both islands.

Expect classic Séga rhythms suitable for dancing, Creole vocals, and instrumentation typical of the 1980s Séga scene (which might include synthesizers alongside traditional percussion). A great representation of popular island music from that era.
